Organization Summary: The Mental Health Collective is a community based agency working to improve the emotional health and well-being of our diverse community. We do this by solving problems through community partnership; providing affordable, accessible, and culturally appropriate mental health services; locating services in community locations such as public schools and neighborhood centers; and providing training to graduate students and professionals in the community
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provide financial and program oversight for neighborhood mental health organization. Duties: Attend board meetings every other month Serve on board committee Participate with staff in agency development tasks Assist with strategic and fiscal planning Requirements: Interest in mental health/community health issues Minimum four hour/month commitment
Skills: Any of the following skills could enhance our board development goals: Marketing expertise Fiscal planning/management skills Fund development skills Interest in specific program areas such as children's health, refugee and immigrant health, adult mental health, senior's mental health Interest in community outreach/problem solving on issues that overlap with mental health, i.e. educational outcomes, homelessness, community wellness
